A W.12 made an emergency landing in the Netherlands in 1918 and was interned. Dutch testing produced a favorable assessment, followed by the purchase of a manufacturing licence in 1919. The Dutch built 35 aircraft and kept them in naval air service until 1933. Reconnaissance, floatplane fighter work, and general duties gave the wartime design a long postwar service life.
