HMCS Haida and the Tribal-class legacy

HMCS Haida is introduced as the last surviving Tribal-class destroyer and a tangible link to a much larger wartime class.

Notes

HMCS Haida represents the 27 Tribals that entered service and the five planned sisters that remained on paper. As the last surviving Tribal-class destroyer, she is the class's only preserved physical survivor. Her preservation connects the wartime Royal Canadian Navy with the wider British and Commonwealth Tribal story. The opening explains why one museum ship carries the memory of a much larger wartime class.
