The premise asks what would change if effective British Greenboy-style shells had reached the fleet before Jutland. The counterfactual works backward to a plausible cause, changes as little else as possible, and follows the consequences. Alongside the three lost British battlecruisers, Lützow was lost, Seydlitz barely reached home, and the returning German battle fleet was badly damaged. British ships suffered the more spectacular sinkings, while the German survivors were less ready to fight again. More reliable penetration and detonation could turn much of the damage Britain already inflicted into decisive losses.
