What Gorshkov's Atlantic reading leaves out

Gorshkov's Atlantic case omits Allied escort growth, operational adaptation, and the demands of a wider global war.

Notes

Britain was already expanding escort production and adapting as the convoy war changed. U-boat losses also mattered to the campaign's balance. At the same time, British forces were handling Mediterranean commitments and reorganizing deployments around the world. A submarine-centered calculation leaves out those moving parts. Gorshkov's framing also relied on a Great Patriotic War narrative that minimized the contribution of the Soviet Union's Allies.
