Question

What happened to the German destroyers after they drew Glowworm toward Admiral Hipper?

Short answer

They escaped the immediate action but soon became involved in the battles of Narvik.

Notes

The destroyers escaped Glowworm and continued with the invasion force rather than being destroyed in the encounter. Their reprieve was short-lived because both were then caught up in the battles around Narvik.
