Glen-class armament, personnel load, and endurance

A Glen-class LSI combined high-angle guns, nearly 1,700 embarked personnel, a 10,000-ton hull, and a stated 15,000-mile range.

Notes

Three twin four-inch mountings, backed by machine guns and cannon, gave the Glen-class ships substantial high-angle anti-aircraft defence. Each could carry more than 1,000 soldiers. The landing-craft contingent added 12 officers and 220 men, while the ship's company added 28 officers and 263 men, bringing the total close to 1,700 people. At about 507 feet long, 66 feet wide, and nearly 10,000 tons, the ships had the scale to accommodate that load. Their machinery produced 12,000 horsepower, and the stated endurance was 15,000 miles at 14 knots.
