Diesel range does not erase Germany's numerical weakness

British attacks on diesel production and the Royal Navy's larger force would continue to constrain Germany even after the propulsion change.

Notes

Changing machinery also concentrates German vulnerability in diesel refining and production, which British bombing would target. Engines do not raise naval budgets, ship totals, or construction priority. Without a larger allocation of money and yards, the Kriegsmarine remains financially and numerically weaker than the Royal Navy. Diesel endurance therefore complicates interception while leaving the strategic imbalance intact.
