Why Furious worked better as a carrier conversion

Furious's original two-gun design offered poor targeting prospects. Its guns are interpreted as shortened versions of a weapon intended for another capital ship. Attacking minelayers and making quick bombardments of German ports are rejected as convincing purposes for the design. Conversion to an aircraft carrier was a much stronger use of the hull.
