Chapter · 12:34-17:58

A full-spectrum carrier task force

An enlarged Queen Elizabeth task force would combine escorts, replenishment, amphibious shipping, Marines, vehicles, and aircraft as a wider expeditionary package.

Notes

The proposed group adds another tanker, an Albion-class landing platform dock, and a Type 23 frigate to the carrier's regular escorts. A larger formation could visit ports, exercise with allies, detach ships, and land a credible force while the carrier continued its voyage. The extra tanker would also help partners that lack Britain's auxiliary capacity. F-35s, Merlin helicopters, Marines, and heavy equipment would make British reach visible without turning presence into a promise of war. Ajax and Boxer vehicles from the Strike Brigades are suggested as part of that heavy equipment. The Great White Fleet analogy treats the voyage as a rare opportunity to display the breadth of national capability through a complete task force.
