Would French studies beyond the Lyon class favour very large guns and quadruple turrets?
Short answerQuadruple arrangements are considered plausible, with several designs having been explored.
NotesQuadruple turrets are the likely feature identified for further French large-gun designs. Several proposals are mentioned without selecting one as the expected ship of 1942. The reply does not establish a complete gun specification or a construction commitment.
