The Swordfish belonged to the Royal Navy's torpedo, spotter, reconnaissance category, abbreviated TSR. The designation combined several naval aviation tasks in one aircraft. The same letters later appeared in a different RAF context. Their meaning therefore depends on the service and period being discussed.
