France's final two prewar classes completed eight ships with steam turbines, two single 100 mm guns, four 65 mm guns, and two twin 450 mm torpedo mounts. Their machinery produced about 15,000 shaft horsepower for a top speed of 30 knots. One of these classes could reach 1,950 nautical miles at 14 knots. Normal complements had risen to about 80 to 83, with some reports of 85 or 86 aboard. Numbers remained limited while France also tried to accelerate dreadnought construction.
