A faster Tiger would push later battlecruisers harder

A 30- or 32-knot Tiger would pressure later battlecruisers to become faster and widen the competition over speed.

Notes

Geared turbines and small-tube boilers could have given Tiger a 30-knot capability. The counterfactual also considers a speed of 32 knots. Raising Tiger's speed by three knots would pressure later battlecruisers to gain still more speed if they were to preserve their advantage. One ship's machinery choices could therefore widen the competition over battlecruiser speed.
