Draug's escaped crew supports the Allied fleet

Norwegian personnel take liaison posts while British support improves Draug's air defence and magnetic-mine protection.

Notes

Draug's arrival in Britain made experienced Norwegian personnel available for work across the Allied fleet. Members of its crew joined Royal Navy ships as liaison officers during the Norwegian campaign, including its second-in-command aboard HMS Manchester. The chief engineer remained responsible for maintaining Draug and bringing it to an operational standard. British assistance included replacing some guns with anti-aircraft weapons and fitting a degaussing cable, improvements the Norwegian crew welcomed.
