Dorsetshire's anti-raider work from Graf Spee to Python

Dorsetshire's pursuit and patrol work shows how cruisers attacked the intelligence, supply, and movement problem behind German surface raiding.

Notes

The ship joined the response to Admiral Graf Spee, dealt with the scuttled German supply ship Wakama, and later searched for raiders including Admiral Scheer and Atlantis. These assignments required wide patrols, reconnaissance aircraft, convoy work, and coordination with carriers and other cruisers. The interception of Python, aided by Ultra while the supply ship refuelled U-boats, disrupted the logistics that kept German vessels operating far from home. Dorsetshire's career therefore shows counter-raider warfare as an intelligence, supply, and sea-control problem rather than a sequence of isolated gun battles.
