Once recalled from hunting von Spee, the Tiger Cubs fit naturally with the battlecruiser force because they share Tiger's projected 28-knot speed. Lion and Princess Royal can make about 27.5 knots, while New Zealand and Indomitable are closer to 25. Blucher holds the German formation to roughly 25 knots even though the other German battlecruisers are faster. A British fast wing of Tiger, the Lions, and four to six Tiger Cubs could therefore form a coherent pursuit force with the preferred three-knot margin for choosing range and crossing the enemy's course.

Dogger Bank with a faster British force
At Dogger Bank, four to six 28-knot cruisers could give the British fast wing a coherent three-knot advantage over a German force constrained by Blucher.
