Each hull could carry roughly 50 to 60 aircraft, with hangars comparable in size to Eagle's. Internal lifts are considered likely, despite the hangar-space advantages of deck-edge lifts. The ships would probably retain integral anti-torpedo bulges, torpedo bulkheads, and roughly 2 to 3 inches of belt armor. Triple 4-inch guns and some anti-aircraft weapons could remain, while the heavy main battery and torpedo tubes would be omitted. The historical construction timetable offers a starting point: Courageous and Glorious were completed in October 1916, followed by Furious in June 1917. Replacing their main armament with aviation facilities would produce a different fitting-out requirement.

Large hangars and modest protection for Fisher's carriers
The carrier design estimate combines room for about 50 to 60 aircraft with internal lifts and much of the hulls' existing protection.
