Chapter · 43:28-44:34

Sending Tiger Cubs to Cradock

Commissioning in autumn 1914 makes Cradock's squadron the likeliest first destination for a pair of Tiger Cubs.

Notes

The first ships are unlikely to commission before September to November 1914, so they miss the pursuit of Goeben and Breslau. Once available, a pair can reinforce Christopher Cradock without detaching battlecruisers needed in the North Sea. Their 28-knot speed lets them reach distant stations quickly and makes them a more credible response than another slow armoured cruiser. Cradock's squadron is therefore the likeliest first destination for the new class.
