A convoy attack succeeds by reaching the merchant ships

In an Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts engagement, the attacker treats the transports as the mission objective and the escorts as obstacles, while the defending cruisers compound defeat by chasing a destroyer after the convoy is lost.

Notes

The campaign engagement separates sinking warships from the operational purpose of convoy warfare. British cruisers use speed to bypass the escorts and reach the merchant ships, the actual objective. Once the transports are gone, the surviving French cruisers would preserve more value by disengaging than by chasing a cheaper destroyer. The action is simulated, but the outcome still turns on target priority, escort positioning, and withdrawal at the right moment.
