What continued E-class building might have changed

Earlier triple-turret cruisers might have released older C-class hulls for anti-aircraft conversion and accelerated dual-purpose gun development.

Notes

The closing viewer exercise asks how Royal Navy 6-inch cruisers might have evolved if Euphrates and further E-class ships had been funded alongside the Counties. Earlier experience with multiple twin mounts might even have accelerated the move to triple 6-inch turrets in the late 1920s. New cruisers could also have freed aging C-class ships for earlier anti-aircraft conversions, encouraging development of 4.5-inch dual-purpose mounts with consequences for later Tribal-class destroyers. This remains an open counterfactual because the possible effects depend on a long chain of design and procurement choices.
