Why Europe cannot have one ideal anti-air corvette

European navies can share a hull and machinery, but geography demands different sensors and missiles.

Question

What would be the ideal common anti-aircraft corvette for European NATO navies?

Short answer

There is no single ideal fit; a common hull is possible, but each theater requires different sensors, ranges, and reaction characteristics.

Notes

A true corvette is small for the radar height, power, and missile load needed for area air defense. More importantly, Baltic clutter and reaction times differ from the open Mediterranean, Arctic patrol, or North Atlantic requirements. Nations might standardize hull form, propulsion, and electrical generation, but they would need customer-specific radar and weapons fits. The best missile in one theater is not automatically the best for another navy's mission.
