How torpedoes from several directions restrict a battleship

A combined air and destroyer attack narrows escape routes and can turn one damaging hit into an opening for follow-up attacks.

Notes

Simultaneous attacks by destroyers and torpedo aircraft would leave the German battleships fewer safe directions in which to turn. A torpedo hit could slow a ship enough for heavier British forces to catch it, even if the damage were not immediately fatal. Destroyers retaining some torpedoes could then attack the slower target again. Aircraft could also return to their carriers, giving the attacking force further opportunities. These are consequences of the proposed combined attack, rather than an account of an action that occurred.
