Churchill and Royal Navy ship naming

Why is there no current Royal Navy ship named for Winston Churchill?

Royal Navy naming at the time generally avoided politicians, favoring royal, inherited naval, and occasional admiral names.

In this 2021 discussion, the U.S. Navy has a ship named for Winston Churchill while the Royal Navy has no current equivalent. Contemporary British practice generally favors royal names and inherited naval names over recent politicians. Admirals also supply names, with Anson mentioned in connection with the Astute class. The convention is described as a tendency, leaving room for historical exceptions.
