Carrier figures understate an independent starship's crew

HMS Queen Elizabeth provides a lower-bound comparison because escorts, auxiliaries, ports, and embarked forces carry much of a carrier group's workload.

Notes

The carrier comparison separates the core crew, air element, and embarked troops to show how total personnel can approach sixteen hundred. HMS Queen Elizabeth starts with about 679 ship's company, then adds the air group and potentially hundreds of troops. A BC-304 carries fewer aircraft and troops, but it also has more weapon systems and a much greater requirement for independent maintenance. Unlike the carrier, it cannot rely on auxiliaries, escorts, or a worldwide port network to supply missing skills. The comparison makes the modern carrier a lower bound rather than a direct template for a starship expected to operate alone.
