More carriers and large destroyers for Atlantic hunting groups

The search-and-strike problem posed by dispersed German raiders could increase British carrier construction and demand for Tribal-sized ocean escorts.

Notes

Longer-ranged German ships would force Britain to search a much larger ocean area. Because the RAF would still prioritize Bomber Command over assigning large aircraft to Coastal Command, the Royal Navy would likely seek more carriers for maritime search. Carrier aircraft could find and slow a raider long enough for the surface hunting force to close. Balanced hunting groups would also need large destroyers able to accompany capital ships into the North Atlantic. This requirement could lead to more Tribal-sized vessels alongside regular destroyer flotillas.
