The C class retained the Fuze Keeping Clock and carried 4.5-inch guns on Mark V mountings with 55 degrees of elevation. That elevation fell short of the preferred capability but was accepted for wartime service alongside the close-range anti-aircraft battery. The stabilised Hazemeyer Bofors mounting came from a Dutch design adapted with Dutch help. Its technical complexity caused production bottlenecks, so some ships received quad pom-poms when Hazemeyers were unavailable. The nominal torpedo and anti-submarine fits included eight tubes in two quadruple launchers and 70 depth charges, with the possibility of additional charges carried aboard.

Fire control and Hazemeyer shortages on the C class
The C class kept the Fuze Keeping Clock and took 4.5-inch guns. Supply of the stabilised Hazemeyer mount still affected what ships received.
