Early TOG 2 mockups combined several weapons in one turret while retaining proposed hull armament. One arrangement paired a 3-inch howitzer with a 2-pounder anti-tank gun and a Besa machine gun. Major-General Vivian Pope opposed the multiplication of weapons within a single tank. A later wooden arrangement included a 3-inch 20 cwt gun, whose armour-piercing performance is compared with the new 6-pounder. That made the accompanying 2-pounder's purpose difficult to explain. The reading distinguishes these mockups from the completed vehicle, which never received the proposed hull gun or machine-gun sponsons.
