K Company was to climb from a landing zone several hundred feet below Mount Kent's summit once the company had assembled. Guns, mortars, and ammunition were supposed to be in position before the marines met the enemy, with artillery and mortar specialists directing their fire. Command headquarters and the Blowpipe air-defense weapons would arrive later. The map showed that men carrying the missiles could not reach the company with those loads in darkness, so their movement required a further attempt in daylight. SAS personnel already on Mount Kent would guide the marines to the summit.

Getting fire support and Blowpipe missiles onto Mount Kent
The Mount Kent plan coordinated infantry, artillery, mortars, and air defense around helicopter availability and terrain that made heavy missile loads impractical at night.
