Keeping Incomparable supplied with unique 20-inch ammunition would be difficult, and her prominence would make her a priority air target. Royal Navy interwar planning paired carriers with battlecruisers in fast hunting groups, with Force H and Ark Royal offered as a later comparison. An Incomparable-sized hull might instead become a carrier capable of matching the battlecruiser's speed. Either approach makes the ship's operational value depend on a wider force structure as well as her own speed and guns.
