Constellation and Burke used different SPY-6 array sizes

Array size and face count explain why Constellation's SPY-6 fit was not equivalent to a Burke's.

Notes

Sharing the SPY-6 name does not make the frigate's radar equal to the destroyer's. The comparison gives Constellation three faces with nine radar modular assemblies per array. Burke Flight III receives thirty-seven assemblies per array, while the Flight IIA refit is described as having twenty-four. Some advantages over SPY-1 follow from active rather than passive electronically scanned technology. Those advantages do not erase the difference in array scale and overall capability.
