Falklands weapons and advertised performance

A compact Falklands comparison warns that manufacturer claims cannot be treated as combat probabilities for either side.

Notes

The Falklands War punctures the assumption that weapons perform exactly as advertised. If every claimed probability were accepted, Argentina would have lost far more aircraft than it possessed while the Royal Navy would also have lost every Harrier. The contradiction shows that laboratory figures, sales claims, and operational results describe different things. Missile and air-defense performance has to be judged from operational evidence, not brochure numbers.
