Why do some modern warship bridges make it difficult to see outside?
Short answerBridge windows must be large enough for useful visibility but small enough to limit the damage that can enter through them.
NotesBridge-window size creates a hard design tradeoff. Larger windows improve the watch team's view but create larger openings through which damage can enter. Smaller windows reduce that vulnerability at the cost of restricted visibility. Warship bridge design therefore has to balance everyday usability with battle protection.
