Béarn is judged a poor one-off carrier design burdened by too many competing ideas. It could still train naval aviators, support operations across the Mid-Atlantic gap, and provide another flight deck in the Atlantic. The North Atlantic, working alongside Furious, is the preferred employment. Mediterranean deployment would be undesirable, although it would remain an option if necessary. Anti-submarine patrols and convoy protection offer useful tasks that do not require Béarn to fight a major carrier battle.

Béarn is limited but still useful
Béarn is treated as a flawed carrier that could still train crews, cover convoys, and add Atlantic air support.
