Transporters do not replace shuttles and rescue craft

Shielding, radiation, and jamming can deny transporters, leaving a ship without a reliable way to recover pilots or extract personnel.

Notes

The BC-304's transporters and rings are powerful but vulnerable to shielding, radiation, and jamming. A physical shuttle or recovery craft gives the crew a redundant extraction method and protects the scarce F-302 force when a pilot or aircraft must be recovered. The fighter's own grappling equipment does not substitute for a purpose-built rescue asset. This is a practical lesson in redundancy: a convenient primary system should not erase the need for recovery under the conditions most likely to disable it.
