Pegasus is presented as an enlarged, more heavily equipped development of Galactica, with a questionable propulsion arrangement. Eight engines sit in a compact circle, allowing a well-placed strike run to threaten several at once. An attack from below could potentially cross much of the cluster instead of forcing an opponent to engage widely separated machinery. Launch tubes and other carrier features make the ship formidable, yet they do not remove the damage-control risk created by concentrating essential propulsion in one target area.
Notable Point · 2:47:14-2:48:13
Pegasus concentrates too much propulsion in one target
The fictional battlestar's ring of eight engines creates a concentrated vulnerability despite its otherwise capable carrier features.
