Original and modern Battlestar Galactica designs compared

Which version of Battlestar Galactica does the panel prefer?

Some prefer the original through its appearance and familiarity; others choose the modern ship's sleeker form or its heavily armed wartime configuration.

Preferences divide between the original Galactica's appearance and the modern ship's slimmer design. Affection for the original includes the experience of encountering that version first, even while acknowledging greater consistency in the newer series. The strongest endorsement of the modern ship is specifically for its wartime configuration, with armour and guns that had largely disappeared by the main television story. Another reason for preferring it is a visual identity less reminiscent of Star Wars. These are different personal judgments about appearance, continuity, and combat fit.
