Similar hull counts conceal Russia's advantage at Öland

Russia's three 100-gun ships and nine 74s outweigh Sweden's similar ship count, which is corrected from 20 to 21 when a 60-gun vessel is included.

Notes

Rostislav is again the Russian flagship, supported by two other 100-gun ships, nine 74s, and eight 66s. The fleet comparison initially gives each side 20 ships, then corrects the Swedish total to 21 when a 60-gun ship is included. That correction does little to change the firepower balance. Sweden has seven 74s and one 66, with its other ships carrying fewer guns. A conventional parallel gunnery duel exposes those smaller Swedish vessels to a substantial disadvantage. Comparing gun strength and decks explains the imbalance more clearly than a nearly equal hull count.
