Balanced fleets turn Mahan's warning into force design

Wartime destroyer construction, a combined-arms analogy, and Mahan's warning all point toward a balanced fleet prepared during peace.

Notes

Wartime construction proved the country's industrial capacity, but it arrived too late to count as peacetime preparedness. A combined-arms analogy uses infantry, armoured vehicles, drones, and artillery to show why no platform supplies every capability by itself. A fleet likewise needs capital ships, screens, scouts, and support matched to the mission. Mahan's warning returns at the end: material must be ready before hostilities are imminent. Timely preparation can deter conflict, while delay transfers the cost to lives and treasure.
