Chapter ยท 38:16-41:23

Vertical launch embodies the autoloader philosophy

Modern vertical launch systems reduce moving parts and physical human actions while retaining people for command decisions.

Notes

A vertical launch system shortens the path from decision to discharge. Missiles sit in ready cells, computers control the sequence, and operators act from a protected position instead of physically passing ammunition toward a launcher. Fewer mechanical movements reduce the time and number of failure points between the command to fire and weapon release. Human judgment remains in command decisions even as operators leave the physical machinery loop. Automation accelerates execution while people remain responsible for the decision to engage.
