Four yards build the eight-ship class

The construction roster shows state dockyards and private firms delivering all eight Arethusa-class cruisers between the outbreak of war and March 1915.

Notes

The Royal Navy distributed the class between state dockyards and private shipbuilders. Arethusa and Aurora came from Chatham and Devonport, while Beardmore built Galatea, Inconstant, and Royalist. Vickers built Penelope and Phaeton, and Fairfield built Undaunted. The ships were laid down from late 1912 into 1913 and entered service between August 1914 and March 1915, so the entire class arrived during the first seven months of the war.
