Design references for Allied coastal forces

Allied Coastal Forces of World War II is recommended for the plans, internal layouts, and operational design of Fairmile and U.S. small craft.

Notes

The book's diagrams, internal arrangements, and detailed plans show how coastal craft were built. Modellers can use the same material to reconstruct those vessels. The Fairmile designs show that supposedly small craft could still be large, heavily equipped, and carefully arranged for their missions. Motor gun boats, motor torpedo boats, and submarine chasers reveal the practical compromises of small-warship design.
