Question

What might replace HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark?

Short answer

The decision remained open, though an LHD design could eventually be selected.

Notes

The Albion and Bulwark replacement debate remained separate from the Type 32 mine-warfare proposal that followed it. Several amphibious options were circulating. A cautious prediction in 2021 was that an LHD design could win. This records a possible direction without presenting an unsettled requirement as a firm program.
