Could carriers have bridged France's doctrinal schism?

Aircraft carriers might have reconciled Jeune Ecole cost-offset thinking with the large-ship fleet more effectively than Béarn did.

Notes

Aircraft carriers offered a possible bridge between France's divided naval strategies. Their aircraft gave the Jeune Ecole faction a relatively cheap striking system capable of threatening expensive warships, while the carrier hull still belonged to the large-ship fleet and exercised capital-ship yards. Planned carriers might therefore have connected the two rival approaches in a way Béarn had not. They appear to have been the only available platform able to make the competing components work together. This remains a proposal about doctrinal reconciliation, not a claim that the unbuilt ships would certainly have solved France's institutional problems.
