The narrow range window favoring the Bismarck-like ship

The Bismarck-like opponent has a small range band in which its 15-inch guns can engage before Agincourt's 18-inch battery can answer.

Notes

The pre-battle comparison gives the German design about 32.5 kilometres of armour-piercing range while the British 18-inch design initially reaches about 30.6. This leaves roughly a kilometre and a half in which the German ship can fire unanswered. That advantage exists only if the faster Bismarck-like ship can maintain the correct separation. Engagement geometry and fire-control choices become operational variables alongside gun calibre.
