Designing a warship for an ancient deployment

How would you design a modern warship and crew for a mission back to the Punic Wars?

Use an LHD with landing capacity, aircraft, guns, and missiles, but power it with locally obtainable coal so it can remain operational.

For the hypothetical deployment to the Punic Wars, the proposed ship follows an LHD layout with a dock for landing heavy equipment. Suggested weapons include twin 5-inch or 57 mm guns and Tomahawk cruise missiles. Its flight deck would support aircraft, drones and helicopters. Coal propulsion supplies fuel obtainable in the ancient setting. The design therefore combines overwhelming initial fighting power with a plan for local fuel supply.
