German torpedo boat A32 sank during Operation Albion in 1917, the successful German amphibious campaign against Russia in the Baltic. Estonia raised and repaired the wreck in 1923 and commissioned it as Sulev. Recovering a sunken boat illustrates the limited resources available to the Estonian Navy. After the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940, the vessel entered Soviet service under a new name and patrolled against German forces. It remained in service until scrapping in 1950.
