The BC-303 Prometheus preceded the Daedalus class, but the planned series of ships gave way to the BC-304. Prometheus is judged much less flexible and useful than its successor. One suggested reason for replacing it in the series is that its limitations restricted what the writers could do in later episodes. The BC-304 combines Asgard, Goa'uld, and human technology, with Ancient technology added later.
