Alternating broadsides at Zealand Point

Stately and Nassau alternated their attacks so the Danish ship faced moving targets and could not balance its return fire effectively.

Notes

Stately and Nassau repeatedly passed, fired, dropped back, and returned instead of combining into one stationary attack. That rotation kept the British ships moving through the Danish field of fire while maintaining pressure. Prince Christian Frederick could not distribute its return fire effectively. Maneuver therefore created a local gunnery advantage and helps explain the unequal losses.
