Building a Zara-style opponent with 1930s sensors

The Zara-style opponent brings longer eight-inch guns and stronger armour to the trial, while its lack of radar, sonar, and torpedoes limits the design.

Notes

A Zara-inspired Italian heavy cruiser becomes the opponent, with game substitutions where historical features cannot be reproduced. Its hydrophones are distinct from sonar, and it receives no radar. The design also omits torpedoes and uses four-inch guns in place of the historical 3.9-inch secondaries. Its belt is deliberately increased from roughly three inches to six, while the eight-inch guns retain their 53-calibre length. These changes make the trial more competitive while keeping the fictional ship recognisably Zara-like.
