Medea-class Greek orders and small flotilla groups

Greek-ordered Medea destroyers show how small requisitioned classes found useful places in British operational groups.

Notes

The Medeas were ordered for Greece and taken over by Britain, alongside ships originally intended for the Ottomans. John Brown and Fairfield built them. They had three 4-inch guns, a single 2-pounder and two twin 21-inch torpedo launchers, with a maximum speed of 32 knots. Small classes such as the Medeas and Talismans could be assigned to groups such as the Harwich Force. Their limited numbers still made useful additions to particular operational formations.
